Building confidence through drama classes at St Madeleine’s

Building confidence through drama classes at St Madeleine’s
05/04/2018 ASPA Group

After delivering a successful drama program in 2017, we’re delighted to be working with St Madeleine’s Primary School in Kenthurst NSW again in 2018.

ASPA Education instructors Maddie and Olivia have been visiting the school each Wednesday throughout Term 1, working with students in all grades. As St Madeleine’s does not have a specialist drama/performing arts teacher, engaging ASPA Education is the perfect way to ensure that students do not miss out on participating in and experiencing the benefits of the performing arts. Our drama program at St Madeleine’s has also been designed to meet curriculum requirements. Maddie and Olivia have incorporated three different drama activities in each lesson, and conclude with an appreciation session where the students can reflect on what they have learnt and how they felt about performing.

As we approach the end of the 11 week program, Maddie said that an improvement in the confidence of the students has been one of the main benefits that she has seen the students experience. Maddie commented that “It has been a pleasure to see each class slowly but surely step out of their comfort zone and try new things. I have really enjoyed seeing this growth in confidence and it’s been so much fun getting to create performances with the students.”
