5 Things to Know About ASPA Education

At the Australian School of Performing Arts, we understand the power of the performing arts to motivate and inspire people of all ages and abilities. We offer a diverse range of programs at ASPA Education so to make it easy for you to understand what we’re all about, here are the top 5 things you need to know about ASPA Education.

1. We can bring the magic of the performing arts to your school

Looking to inspire and engage the students at your school? ASPA Education is here to help. All our programs are customised based on your requirements, so whether it’s assistance with school productions or performing arts classes, we meet you where you’re at. We’re passionate about providing high-quality performing arts education which can come in the shape of singing, dance and drama workshops or even staging a full-scale production.

2. We run holiday programs

At ASPA Education we offer exciting performing arts holiday programs to keep your children active during the school break. Our ‘Take the Stage’ holiday program will run this year in the Winter and Spring school holidays, which includes two days of singing, dance, drama, and theatre skills, culminating in a Showcase Concert. The excitement doesn’t end there! Each January, ‘Summer Showtime’ unfolds, where budding performers stage a full-scale production in just four days. Previous shows we have staged include Seussical Jnr and Aristocats Kids.

“This was a great program! My daughter really enjoyed herself and felt a great sense of achievement at the end. We’ve been continuing to sing the songs! This was definitely a highlight of her school holidays. Thank you for the encouragement and professionalism of the whole ASPA team involved.” – Claire, parent of Summer Showtime attendee

3. We also teach… teachers!

As passionate educators, we believe in equipping teachers with the skills and knowledge to deliver vibrant and sustainable performing arts programs in their schools. Building the capacity of specialist and classroom teachers is a real focus for us so throughout the year we run multiple Teacher Professional Development workshops centred on different themes. Our workshops include Start or Revive Your School Choir, Show-Stopping School Concerts and Performing Arts Content Booster this year. These workshops are run across Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

“I really enjoyed singing and dancing – so fun! The wealth of knowledge that the presenters possess – amazing! I also loved networking with other PA and Music teachers” – Carlie, Show-Stopping School Concerts attendee

4. We’re related to the Australian Girls Choir

At The Australian Girls Choir, our dynamic and inclusive curriculum, as well as exciting performance opportunities, is offered to 6,500 girls around Australia. Some performance highlights include representing the ‘Spirit of Australia’ for Qantas’ ‘I Still Call Australia Home’ advertisements, performing alongside Hugh Jackman on his Arena shows across the country and singing at major sporting events such as the Australian Open.

After witnessing the profound impact of the performing arts through the Australian Girls Choir, the Australian School of Performing Arts (ASPA) was born in order to extend these opportunities even further. Dedicated to reaching diverse audiences, ASPA Education has since delivered programs to more than 50,000 students and teachers, including 250 schools, early childhood centres, and holiday programs. Many of the experienced and passionate Australian Girls Choir team also work with ASPA Education. Alongside the Australian Girls Choir and REDed (Raw Energy Dance Education), ASPA embodies values of accessibility, inclusivity, and excellence in performing arts education.
